About Depression
This illness is more than just feeling sad at times due to life
changes such as death of a loved one, moving to a new location, or physical
illness. Some depression is normal and is a part of everyone's life. If the
sadness is severe or long-lasting, a medical evaluation is needed. Depression
can be a side-effect of certain medicines, illnesses, or alcoholism. It is also
a disease in and of itself and needs to be treated as such. Depression affects
moods, body, behavior, and mind.
