About Diabetes

Our bodies produce glucose by breaking down carbohydrates in our stomach and digestive system. As the glucose travels the bloodstream to all parts of the body, it provides energy to cells and combines with insulin. If the glucose is unable to pass into the cells, it builds up and passes into the urine. The excess causes damage to the nervous system, heart, eyes, and kidneys.
