About Cerebrovascular Accidents (Strokes)

Whenever a stroke occurs, the vessels in the brain become blocked, thereby causing basic tissue to die. As this happens, some body function is lost. The cause of a stroke is usually a hemorrhage. This in turn may be due to a blood vessel bursting and bleeding into the brain, or a clot traveling through the blood vessel and becoming lodged, preventing blood flow to part of the brain.

If you think a stroke has occurred, call 911 immediately!
